EVENTS
Celebrate the beauty of winter and the magic of light at WinterLight, a hands-on event at the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum on November 16, 2024. Immerse yourself in a world of creative and educational activities as you explore different light sources and winter-themed crafts. Follow animal tracks to stations where you’ll work together to recreate the Northern Lights, craft constellations with hammer and nails, and experiment with Victorian-style sun prints. Create your own lunar sundial, decorate candles, and more. With activities that spark curiosity and imagination for all ages, WinterLight blends fun and discovery in a festive, warm atmosphere. Whether you're crafting, learning about the wonders of animal adaptations, or taking part in a giant lite-brite display, there’s something for everyone at this illuminating celebration of the season.

PROGRAMS
We are currently offering the following programs for school/small groups:
Habitat Heroes: Participants will learn about local species and habitats while developing awareness of how their actions can help or harm local ecosystems. Content will include guided tours of the MacLachlan property, a stewardship-focused game and the opportunity to create bug hotels to take home.
This program can be tailored for participants in Kindergarten to Gr. 5.
Nailed It: Nailed It! will teach participants about a variety of trees, the differences between soft and hard woods, and how to use both heritage and modern tools while woodworking. They will use what they learned throughout the program to design and build a wooden creation to take home.
