One Degree of Separation logo

One Degree of Separation exhibit, on until Sept. 3, intimately Connects Oddities.

The exhibt brings together disparate objects and shows the peculiar connections that link them.  One Degree of Separation is the brainchild of our very own curator, Tom Riddolls.

We wanted to explore how our city – rich with diverse populations and histories – could, by peeling back the layers, actually be exposed as a unified and inclusive place.  Immigrants connect with families that have been here for centuries Public art connects with 19th century architecture. And everything in Kingston connects with hockey… .  This exhibit attempts to train us to look for these unseen relationships,” says Riddolls.

One Degree of Separation offers new perspectives on old objects via four unique pathways through the exhibit. Each path highlights certain groups of objects that are connected thematically and appeal to certain personality types. By using personality as another way to group objects, Riddolls hopes to connect viewers on a deeper level.
